Who are “nontraditional” or “adult” students? They are undergraduate students whose unique needs and life circumstances set them apart from traditional undergraduate students. Nontraditional adult students may have experienced a gap in their education since graduating from high school. They may be parents, spouses, caregivers, full-time employees, serving in the military, and/or military veterans. They are often balancing multiple roles and responsibilities while also attending classes.
